The prices for commissaries are very high. Sanitary conditions should be at the highest. It is prison, but soap should be provided for laundry, or be reasonable, like in grocery stores. The loved ones of the inmates should be able to buy them a big box of laundry detergent, instead of piecemeal! The cost is very high. Shampoo and soap should be provided at a reasonable cost. Their loved ones are the ones who pay and see the high prices. More jobs should be provided for those who want to work. Vivitrol drug program should be available. Better drug programs for inmates should be provided. More health personnel should be hired. My loved one hasn't gotten his needed dental work for over 2 years. Plus, treatment for Hep C should be provided. I am sure that for a reasonable cost through the state, the injection to cure Hep C, would not be exorbitant. It should be provided and would benefit not only the inmate, but the state. that way those not treated, woulld not infect others when they get out. It is just common sense.

My husband is often served rotten food and has even been served food that contains crawling live bugs. He has been physically abused by guards on more than one occasion. You can read his blog at www.theinnocentinmate.com
