very nice facility, unit managers Flores and Palamino should be terminated due to their treatment of inmates. They have no regards for inmate safety, they discuss with other inmates issues about you or your case. They choose certain inmates to favor or to give information about inmates which often leads to fights or inmates having to "Check In" I have seen it many times as a former inmate there. Overall the facility is well run, the warden and assistant warden have always gone above and beyond there required job description. There staff that runs unit#5 Segregation or known as the "Hole" is very poorly run, I feel staff is very disrespectful, does not look after your needs, medical or psychological. The food is always cold and the cells are dirty and cold. They have a great gym and physical activities, the visitations are great, they treat your visitor's very respectful. My family always enjoyed our visits here. They terminated Unit manager Luna who for years was having sex in case manager's office's and sexually harassing female worker's . He also was a threat to the safety and security of the facility due to his constant letting certain inmates know others business or charges. He showed very little respect for inmates or policy's and procedures. I hope that they train and implement stricter guidelines for hiring and training of potential correctional staff. Overall the facility was a pleasant place to do your time at. My all the staff and inmates be safe and healthy. God bless them all and I pray they do not get infected with this horrible disease going across the world. Again God Bless the Staff, Inmates and there families and I hope they all go home and take care of their families soon. Respectfully A Former Inmate

I would like to say my above statement regarding Steven Luna is speculation, he was never convicted or terminated for that. He was walked off the grounds for inappropriate emails to a female staff member. Respectfully A Former Inmate

There are scandalous people that work there (case managers...) that will f*** the inmates and snuggle drugs in the facility. There are no repercussions other than quietly letting them go, as not to cause anything bad on the prison. These disgusting MARRIED people should be called out for what they did and should lose the opportunity to work at any prison.

At Crowley county there are very limited programs. the GED program has been non existent the past couple of months. my son started the testing but there is noone to continue the testing so he is doing nothing. without his GED he is not eligible for an inmate job, which really pays very little, $17 per month, but he would keep busy having a job. workout equipment has been removed, saying new equipment is coming , yet there is nothing. when he orders items the delivery is seemingly always delayed. he has had to order clothing, toiletries, items which I would assume should be provided to all inmates. he had an in person visit awhile ago, and they paid for photos yet have not recieved them although its been almost 2 months. he is told there are staffing issues and no one to deal with inmate deliveries. Communication is poor. he never knows if his kites are recieved. we utilize the vidoe visits regularly, yet he doesnt know when they are scheduled unless he happens to call and we can tell him. often some inmate will see the screen and go find. a daily list of who,s scheduled would be helpful to alert the inmates. we miss out on time we pay to visit with him. Rumors are the state run prisons function much better, have ore opportunities for inmates, better paying jobs. he has asked to be transferred. reclass is due in January, yet he feels he will be denied as he has done nothing with his time there, not by choice but by lack of opportunity.
