My fiancé has been at this place for months and I have been unable to see or talk to her because they put her on LOAP and kept extending the time. The interactions I have had with the staff at this place via phone and on the rare occasion I dropped off some items has been less than ideal. They treat you as if you are a criminal. They provide inaccurate info over the phone. I have been writing my fiancé every day and mailing the same letter envelopes for months. I had preprinted labels printed with the mailing and return addresses on them which were attached to the envelope, and nothing was said about this. I will accept blame for not reading under the rules that we were not permitted to send stamps or envelopes to the inmates without permission and when I was informed of this i stopped. My fiancé wrote me that she had been inappropriately touched by a staff member and then she wrote a second letter advising that she had been now sexually assaulted. Ever since she wrote me about that they have withheld letters that I have sent to her and I am not sure if they have also not been sending the letters, she writes to me as there will be several days where I get no mail from her and the letters don't answer questions that i have asked her, it's as if she never got the letter containing the question. Now she is informing me that they say I cannot use the preprinted labels anymore and that they will refuse the letters and send them back. To date out of some 60 odd letters I had only received 1 letter back that was marked refused on 6/3/2022 and I got it back on 6/30/2022. So, they have been withholding these letters from my fiancé and I have no clue what they have been doing with these letters since then. It does not take a month to get returned mail when the letter has a clearly printed return mail address on it. I have been informed that they not only open the letters which is to be expected but that they also read the letters. Since I have been trying to obtain more details about my fiancé informing me, she had been inappropriately touched and sexually assaulted they are not giving those letters to her, nor have they been returned. I have been looking for an attorney for my fiancé but have had no success thus far. It is interesting to note that after I started writing about the attorney search my fiancé informed me she had meeting with the Warden and the Captain. She wrote to me saying she had a good conversation with the Warden and that she advised her she would not be given any more LOAPS. However, I am not holding my breath after she wrote me late advising the Warden had extended the LOAP an additional week because she started to cry when they Warden was advising her of the LOAP extension due to a favor she tried to do for another inmate that was being released. She stated the warden said it was inappropriate behavior for her to have cried!!! After all the unfair treatment she has been subjected to while at this facility crying was out of desperation. Her LOAP was to have ended May 25, 2022, but that was extended to June 10 then it was extended to July 23, 2022. Every time my fiancé attempted to help another inmate, she ended up getting the LOAP. The last time she tried to help another lady that was getting out June 1st is an example of the unfair keystone cop type of facility they seem to run and arbitrarily silence people. My fiancé was issued a refund check from a commissary account from another facility when they transferred her to Hazel D Plant and it was approaching the stale date on the check because I had been unable to visit her and take the check and deposit it and give her funds in exchange. Since they kept placing her on LOAP there was concern the check would have to be reissued and she would be without funds at the facility. This other inmate wanted to have her check also deposited and cashed before it also hit the stale date. She signed the check and gave it to my fiancé for me to cash and mail back a money order for the other inmate. Due to the close date the other inmate was getting out by the time I received the checks, the money order was not going to make it back by the time the inmate was to be released. I sent the money order immediately, but it did not make it in time, so the inmate claimed my 5'4" 98lb fiancé had bullied her into signing the check and giving it to her which was absolute non-sense. So, this brings us to this conversation and decision the Warden made to extend the LOAP to July 23, 2022. You can now understand why my fiancé started to cry as this decision was absolutely unfair and unwarranted. I believe she has been railroaded by this system from day one. I don't feel they should be able to take someone's freedom away for any non-violent crime and it is well documented how people without the means to protect themselves from these situations end up in these institutions unjustly.
