I

Former Inmate

I have been incarcerated here on many occasions and I have been through absolute hell in my experiences with this facility and it's officer's. I was once tied up in the "BE SWEET CHAIR" for 16 days straight because the mental health doctor was on vacation. I was allowed to use the bathroom every 4 hours and walk the length of the hallway before being placed right back in the chair where you are shackled both Feet to the floor. Both arms and wrists to the chair and your neck is restraint as well. It is an absolute awful experience. One of which I have endured many. They treat mental health inmates as something less than humans and make fun of your ailment whatever they might be. They do not make sure that the majority of inmates have access to the phone or video tablets and they do not make it a priority for recreational or educational outlets if you are not court ordered into it. I have never caused a single problem in there and yet you can not get any assistance with the officers regarding uniforms or property issues because they don't want to fool with it. I suffer from PTSD due to gang violence and I still don't have any way of feeling Safe because they don't separate these inmates from the violent one's. And they don't have enough bed space so someone is always sleeping on the floor in a cell that is not big enough for more than 2 people. They allow certain inmates extra food and then make sure some get none until they can call the kitchen for extra when they have enough upon arrival. They don't pay attention to their inmate workers who are robbing them blind. It is an awful experience to be housed there and somebody needs to investigate on a serious level and find out WHY this facility is running like it is... I also suffered 2 heart attacks and it took them days to get me my meds which I have to take daily in order to live. They can Care less about it and then tell you it's your fault for coming to jail. No professionalism whatsoever and it's been like this for over 20 years now.
