I was a chaplain at FCI Oxford for 20 years - 1991 - 2011. You don't list Religious Services in your insights. I provided religious services for 22 different religions at the FCI and the Camp, which added up to more than 200+ hours a week. In the BOP, the chaplain notifies an inmate if a member of his family dies or has been taken to the hospital. In one year, me and my fellow chaplain told 184 inmates a member of their family died and we told 385 inmates a member of their family has been taken to the hospital. And let me tell you, it doesn't what race you are, when you have to tell someone his mom died, it's very personal for you and the inmate. I have many good memories of ministry at FCI Oxford and a few scarry ones too. I would say that FCI Oxford, in my day, was a good place to work.
