Short on help, so inmates are in lock down very often. Food portions are not remotely adequate, they would be suitable for children. Inmate medications ARE NOT CONSISTENT. Multiple weeks go by and we’re talking high blood pressure medication prescriptions, etc. that should not be suddenly stopped. How hard is it to maintain meds for a prisoner? Lack of qualified help obviously. Of course I suppose if an inmate would have a heart attack you could sue the prison since they don’t keep up with meds. The lack of help I’m sure contributes to the fact that prescriptions aren’t filled and inmates aren’t getting what they require, that just is not acceptable. Prisoners with the highest level of offense, murder, crimes against women and children, these are people I can care less about. However, many there have made mistakes in life they’re not scumbags and they deserve to be treated as humans. It’s unfortunate that the employees treat all prisoners like scum. Aren’t we supposed to be rehabilitating people here? You can’t rehabilitate a person if you’re treating him like shit on a daily basis. Again they are human should be treated as such you get what you give so if you’re gonna treat them like shit that’s not gonna help rehabilitate them. This is common sense. This is the problem with privately owned prisons they do only the bare minimum to keep you alive, from the food, meds or the hoops you must jump through just to have a phone conversation with family, which The family member actually has to send in their phone bill in order to get them on a list. Now they’re changing the whole delivery of their mail they just keep making it harder. THIS IS WHY PRISON REFORM IS NEEDED IN EVERY AREA OF THESE PRISONS. Especially privately owned ones as is Southbay!
