My 23 year old son is in eldoredo for a sentence of 120 days for a "false underwriting charge". He is non drug and non violent crime and he has been in lockdown 23 hours a day for 61 days. His cell mate had covid 19 and has since passed away, he now is subjected to another inmate, his teeth are infected with abcessesses and is in so much pain, the meals are gross and portions are barely enough to keep him from literally starving. The covid cases and deaths are rising everyday and now with 55 days left they are shipping him 5 hours away to another facility for him to be subjected to a new 500 inmates for him to get covid19. Theres no rhyme or reason for this and is totally absurd. The violence is crazy and the co's are cruel and unusual. This place is literally hell on earth. The fact they can ship my son to anywhere in the world and not have to notify one single person is a disgrace to the justice system. The fact that there is nobody really they have to answer too or anybody that truly watches the harsh and cruel treatment is appaulling. We really need to revamp the entire system and the way it functions. These inmates are still our loved ones and so many are on technical or non violent crimes. My son can never unsee or unhear the things he has witnessed and that will never leave him. I am scarred by this experience so I know he will never be the same either. I am sick to my stomach when i see how the judicial system has let the prison system do whatever they please because they r only loyal to each other.

There are so few resources to try to rehabilitate anyone here or even reinforce good behavior. Going outside for two hours each week is wrong! Any classes have been cancelled, Mass, Reach from Within, Yoga, etc. Visitors should be able to hug, visit without a mask, etc. Look at the crowds during basketball games, baseball, etc. Maybe visitors and residents need to be vaccinated. Staff, too, or just stay out of the visitation area and don't punish everyone because you don't believe in science and facts.
