As of right now I am very disappointed to hear of the treatment given by the teacher of the cosmetology class. She is very rude and condescending to inmates. Her creditionals, attitude needs to be addressed. Torri Grade is her name.

The disrespect these ladies receive from the officers is horrible. HSU (health services) is terrible. They give the wrong meds or miss meds and blame it on the inmate for not being responsible. When asked to receive the missed med, a bipolar med they are told, no, we want to see what happens to you. Black mold in showers. Not able to take one of the few classes offered if you have a longer sentence. Mens prisons have many more opportunities than the womens. When the population is higher the meal portions get smaller. When you work during the day and miss day space, phone time, you aren't able to use the phone and sometimes not shower because you were working and missed day space. Depending on the officer on duty. Some make acceptions some don't care. I wanted to order mouthwash for my daughter. The cost was $9.00!! Some of these ladies don't have family to help them and only make .19 an hour if they are working. How can they afford that? Personal property seems to be ok as long as someone doesn't get sent to seg. if they do the officers clean out their drawers without regard. I've heard of tablets being broken or missing. Shoes getting lost in the process or missing. Educational programs?? Mental health programs?? If you are lucky enough to get referred to WRC that is a good program but to short for some. My daughter has been asking to go back for two yrs. All the moving around TCI does for no apparent reason is so hard on the people who do have mental health issues. They need stability not moved 5 times in a few months and then back to the starting point. Different roommates everytime they are moved. That's hard on people. Also they get no help if they have limitations. Drs orders don't matter. Why did the Warden ban winter boots? Ours were band new and then sent home. How about hot pots? These ladies don't deserve a hot chocolate, a cup of hot tea or coffee? I realize they are inmates and being punished but they are still human beings and deserve some respect and human decency.
