I

Former Inmate

It's been 8 years since I left there, so the administration has changed. But when I was there, the food, medical care, and treatment of inmates by staff was terrible. Almost no time outside of the dorms for fresh air. No real educational programs. However, the mental health program, the chapel, and visitation were really good. Prison is not supposed to be a vacation, but it doesn't have to be hell either. Alot of us changed our lives at Easterling, thanks to a handful of great officers that treated us with respect. A great chapel program, filled with the Spirit of God, a wonderful mental health staff, that listened and cared, and at that time a Captain who was fair, and listened without preconceived judgement.
