I

Former Inmate

Served 3 months at Ventress for drug charge; if your white, as I am, you will either pay for protection, be robbed and beaten on a regular basis, or raped. Stabbings happen often. Mostly from debt and extortion. White folks don’t stick together, because they know it’s a losing battle. There is nowhere to run or hide. Every other person has a cell phone, and nearly everyone smokes brown clown. The guards have cash apps and smuggle everything from flaka to ice and suboxone to cell phones and pocket knives. $700 for a touchscreen, $200 for a charger. The meat is inedible, the packaging says not fit for human consumption. It’s as close to hell on earth you can get. Security is a figment of imagination. Everyone I met that wasn’t a junkie was in for robbery or murder. The new warden is making some good changes, pressure washing the dorms and enforcing face mask wear and all. Just imagine; you’re being preyed upon and threatened and harassed everyday; and you ask for safety, you get two options; you want to go to seg where your behind a door and can’t go to canteen or outside all day, or take your chances with being assaulted. I knew a guy who had a hatchet made from a dust mop and a sword as long as a mower blade made from the piece of steel the drawer for property slides on. Razor blades will surprise you how they can cut trough welds and steel. Echo and foxtrot dorms; aka the ghetto, I saw 6 beatings and 3 stabbings, one guy coughing up blood. This facility is filled with gorillas, and will make a civilized man a killer just for trying to not be killed. I saw an officer just last Monday (I got out wendsday) threaten to cut an inmates head of and even pulled out a box cutter as he said it. Because the inmate was insulting him. I will never break the law or injest drugs ever again. Nothing is worth the fear this place will instill in you,
