I

Former Inmate

I have been to 5 different prisions San Quentin,Solano,Corcoran,new/oldfolsom. DVI is by far the worse. NO WINDOWS IN WEST HALL MEANS RAIN IN YOUR CELL, AND OVER 110 TEMPERATURES IN THE SUMMER.THEN YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO SURVIVE.MEDICAL IS A JOKE THERE.BETWEEN DVI AND CORCORAN. BY FAR THE WORSE PRISIONS. IT BREAKS SOMETHING WITHIN YOU.

My son has been there for more than 6 months even though it is supposed to be a reception facility. He is supposed to be able to call but have only received 3 phone calls in 6 months. I send books through Amazon so he will have something to do but half the time they are returned saying not deliverable. When I call to ask why he has not transferred they refuse to tell me. I have no contact except letters. The background check for visiting takes more than 6 weeks

I just found out my son is there and I live in another state, so I don't have direct connection with the facility. I wanted to see what kind of place it is.
