I

Former Inmate

I was an inmate from 2016 to 2019 and what I experienced and visually seen was absolutely inhumane. There were times where I would lay down at night and pray for God to just let me die rather than be there, not because it was prison. But because the treatment that inmates were given was horrible. I witnessed a couple suicides while in lock up.And what was sad is the fact that those girls cried out for help. I was also a victim of medical and mental health negligence. I was being given toxic levels of 2 different types of mental health medications. And it could've caused me to have severe permanent damage, but I only suffer from mild symptoms now. I hope and pray things change for the women that are there.

Really concerned about the food grade. During COVID immune system are imperative. Reports of mold in sinks in COVID quarantine section. No cleaning supplies provided and no hygeine products. With the variants of COVID your diet your abilities to keep your immediate surrounding clean and showers daily and a clean place to keep your hands washed is a absolute necessity.

Reports of not enough food. Extras left overs are thrown in trash verses distribution to the inmates. No hygeine products. Commodes overflowing to the point of inmates standing in water. Officers ignoring concerns. Is the problem understaffing or too many inmates. Holding capacity 511 and as of June 2022 told inmates exceeded 1200.

I have been sending funds to the inmate's Cash App twice monthly for the last 4 months. Each time, the inmate informs me that if I pay the balance on her account, she will be released. She claims her confinement is at this facility. I have yet to confirm her location. Inmate name is Theresa VanRees. I have already paid for her release 4 times.
