current inmate is experiencing severe medical neglect. She has been denied insilin, has pulmonary hypertension, recent stroke requiring hospitalization, 3rd stage kidney failure, and congestive heart failure and is being denied all her medication to survive. She had complained of shortness of breath and finally had her blood sugar checked after her first month incarcerated and it was at 400. She was told to go back to bed. Her blood sugar was normal.I have since lost communication with her after her repeatedly emailing her concerns to me. She was able to send out one last email stating she was being moved to another location in the prison but didn't know where or why.She was not able to email or all anymore at this point. They are housed 4 to a cell only 3 ft apart with covid 19 positive inmates and this will surely kill her if she contracts the virus. No hand sanitizer available to inmates, same masks everyday if you are able to get one, no soap, no sanitizing of the phones after each use and only out of cells for 10 minutes once a day. This is cruel and unusual punishment, inhuman and a violation of inmates rights to medical services.

My wife has been incarcerated at Fmc Carswell since December 2021. Short staffed food is terrible and who can get by with only two rolls TP per week and sometimes they only got one roll per week and if they had more than one roll it was considered hoarding and contraband and taken away. The medical care is atrocious my wife is type 1 diabetic and her blood sugars are always extremely high ranging from the high 200 to over 500. Since she voluntarily surrendered in December 2021 her health has been in a steady decline. Didn't know she had to pay with her life. One of the reasons why the food is so atrocious is because they know the women will spend their money at commissary and make their own food which they do every single day. I send my wife $360 every month for commissary just so she won't starve to death and she still has lost over 40 lbs in 6 months since she's been there. The stress anxiety fear of her being treated like that is not humane.
