I

Former Inmate

It was bad. Life is what you make of it, so I tried to learn about myself while there.

I

Former Inmate

My unfortunate incarceration was 84 months. I loved FPC Bryan! Upon being indicted I was horrified to be going too prison. I learned a bit about Federal Prisons and camps and realized I wasn't going to be sent to a ' bad' place. When I arrived there ,Ms Riggs was the officer that did my intake. She was awesome and treated me like a normal human ,treated me with respect, spoke to me like one would speak to a new neighbor. She at the same time carried herself respectfully and professionally so we the new inmates knew as long as we were respectful she would be. All the employees at FPC Bryan were amazing. They didn't have the 'Im better than you attitude' at the same time letting us know we'd have to earn and maintain receiving respect from them. All my prison fears were unfounded. The person that was responsible for hiring the employees at FPC Bryan did an outstanding job. I actually miss many of the officers there as well as many of the other inmates. I received two college degrees, a Horticulture degree and many certificates of accomplishment and many good experiences. Anyone facing time and headed to Bryan go ahead and thank God your going to Bryan. You can make lots of money at the Unicors, meet wonderful people and caring people. I actually cried mixed feelings when I left...happy tears I was going home ,sad tears to leave behind other women I was leaving there inmates and officers. If you're headed to Bryan your headed to a good place
