My son is in the Work release program. He's been in the program since Oct 21. Today 7/10 I encountered an issue when picking him up and as we waited for over an hour and a half with no explanation we left. Who can we reach out to for an explanation. Calling the main # it just rings

My son has bipolar and was transferred from MidState which was a horrible place to be being denied his medications. Upon arrival in Fishkill he was so mentally unstable and was admitted into the mental health hospital. I was so relieved though this was short lived. Before his medication was regulated he was put in population. His mental health has been deteriorating everyday due to lack of proper medication. I keep calling mental health unit with promises of having him sign release for them to speak to me & a promise to call me back. This has been going on for over a week. With no release being signed and no return phone call. This is unacceptable treatment of a person who is suffering from symptoms because he is not receiving proper & much needed medication. I’ve been through this before and will now unfortunately will have to go through legal actions to get my son proper mental health care. I believe they disregard proper treatment of inmates with the thought they do not have anyone on the outside to advocate for them. Though with my son he has an army of family who will fight for his rights.

my loved one is someone with an underlying health issues and was told that he has to wait 7 days to make a phone call while in the hospital. i am overwhelmed and concerned. the CO's nor the nurses are not allowed to say much to me and i am very concerned for his health. this is not the first time that i feel close to a mental break down. this breaks my heart and i am sure its not good for my loved one as well as he has some serious health concerns. i wish this system would change. the hospital requested to call the facility on a weekend and then there is no extensions accessible to better advocate. some things do have to change as i lasted 3 hours waiting for someone to pick up the phone to get not result. ext. should be available to the public since they are surveying the public and since everyone's criminal history is public i don't see why not allow the family's of an inmate to know about their loved ones well being.and also to be able to access the memorandum for the rules with hospitals and when incarcerated.
