I

Former Inmate

I spent almost 6 years at this facility. It is absolutely horrible. Taconic is it’s own entity and barely runs under the DOCCS guidelines. The medical there is unlike anything you will ever see. They forced me to suffer serious medical issues for over 2 1/2 years. The women officers act more like “street” “hood rat” “ratchet “ “inmates” than most of the inmates. They have no programs and the ASAT is a complete joke. There is NO chance of “rehabilitation “ in this jail as they make it a point to hinder any progress they see people making.

The facility is old, dirty and the food is unhealthy. Inmates are treated like properties of the state and they have no rights at all. Packages may or may not reach the inmate and it is impossible to obtain any answers when calling the facility. The workers are nasty and have an attitude with visitors.
