I

Former Inmate

I was housed at both east and west units at Apalachee Correctional institution. The guards are ok. There's only 3 guards that are agressive. The rest aren't that bad. Their food is horrible and raw. The potatoes they serve are raw and food has no flavor at all. They (guards) enjoy leaving inmates outside when it's cold. Sort of a punishment when your standing in line to be moved to any place inside the unit. The east unit is very dangerous. Lots of gang activities going on. There's plenty of drugs inside the prison. You can find marijuana Meth cocaine heroin fentanyl or twack which is spice that is smoked to get high. Suboxone is also huge here. You can even buy liquor if you have the money. Cell phones are easy to buy in both prisons. They cost around 3-500 dollars and the guards bring them inside the prison. You can have your family cash app the officer and the next day or two you'll have your phone. The east unit is dangerous because life is cheap there. I've seen inmates robbed at point blank range. The inmate robbing the other inmate is usually armed with a shank or pookers. Think before committing any crime because you don't wanna end up at Apalachee Correctional institution. I was sent there from Miami SFRC. I spent a week on the road before I was sent to Apalachee Correctional institution. They warn you about the dangers inside of prison. They warn you the day you get there. The warden warn you the second you get off the bus about the dangers of getting robbed or even being murdered inside of Appalachian correctional institution East unit. That was a wake up call.

I have placed money on my grandson's account, Daniel E Chance V34062, all during April and he has not received any. Why does the prison refuse to accept the money from Jpay? I have confirmation that the money has been received from Jpay but prison has not accepted it. From a concerned grandfather.
